  Henry was knighted in 1626, and represented Notts. in the first two Parliaments of Charles I., and East Retford in the third Parliament. He died 29th November, 1634, having married Catherine, eldest daughter of Thomas, Lord Wotton, by whom he left a son, Philip, who became the second Earl of Chesterfield
